Track Day Overview

Read on for information on our typical track day, our various formats, and our additional instruction options!

STANDARD TRACK DAYS

・Riders at standard events are split into three groups - Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced.
・A typical 3-group standard day will find you enjoying 140-160 miles of track time.
・Each group receives one (1) 20-minute session per hour and typically there are seven rotations.
・All events on the STT Schedule are Three Group format unless noted otherwise.

STT's Typical Schedule
Exact times vary by event and venue.
・For specifics on your track day, check the STT Forum for the event Fact Sheet, posted the week of the event.
・You'll also receive a pre-event email with these details approximately two days prior to the start of your event.

7:00 AM - GATES OPEN
Enter the track and sign the venue's liability waiver at the gate.

7:15 AM - SPORTBIKE TIRE SERVICE OPENS
Purchase new Slicks, Dot Race, or Pilot Sport tires for your bike. Since we are a distributor, STT member prices are the lowest around -- guaranteed.

7:00 AM to 8:15 AM - REGISTRATION AND TECH INSPECTION
Meet us at the registration area to check-in and be assigned to a riding group. Turn in your liability waiver and any last minute paperwork to us, get your bike, and proceed to the clearly marked tech inspection area. Get your inspection sticker and enjoy some fresh fruit, donuts, or a sweet bun. Talk with the staff photographer about getting some good shots, or maybe talk with the tire service about putting on some fresh tires during your riding day. DO NOT FORGET to check your tire pressures since settings for the track will differ from street settings.

8:20 AM - MANDATORY RIDER'S MEETING
This meeting is mandatory for all riders. We will brief you on the track conditions, general rules, flags, and a recap of safe track entry and exit. We introduce our instructors so you can pick them out. Immediately following the rider's meeting, all Novice group riders will have a mandatory meeting with our instructors for more in depth instruction.

9:00 AM - ON-TRACK SESSIONS BEGIN
The sessions will rotate in order of Intermediate, Advanced, and Novice. During each session, those riding in the next session should gear up and be ready at the marked grid entry at least five minutes prior to the start of their session

12:00 PM - LUNCH BREAK

1:00 PM - ON-TRACK SESSIONS RESUME
The sessions will rotate in order of Intermediate, Advanced, and Novice. During each session, those riding in the next session should gear up and be ready at the marked grid entry at least five minutes prior to the start of their session.

5:00 PM - END OF DAY
It's time to pack up and head home, or better yet camp at the track (where available) or a nearby hotel where you drop your gear and meet us for dinner where you can hang out with our team, have some fun, and get ready for the next day of riding!

TRACK DAY EXTRAS

RACE CERTIFICATE CLASSES ➤ At specific track days, riders can sign up for a Race Certificate Class for the potential to earn a race certificate. Race certificates are then presented to the racing organization of your choice during application for a license.

・This add-on offers classroom style instruction between track sessions and ends with a written test. Don't worry, this won't compromise your time on the track!
・This class also includes a riding evaluation and race start practices.
・Race Certificate Classes cost $125 in addition to your track time registration.
・When adding track time to your cart, choose the Race Certificate Class option rather than your usual skill group. You will automatically be added to your highest skill level.

NOTE: This class is only available to Intermediate and Advanced riders. Taking this class does not guarantee issuance of a race certificate.
